When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and parent signature must be turned into the office.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Girls Varsity Basketball Team for clinching their Sectional Title and moving onto Districts this Thursday at 6:15 vs Carey at Shelby HS.
 
CONGRATULATIONS to the H-L Wrestlers who had a great showing at our first-ever SBC tournament by getting League Runner-Ups. CONGRATULATIONS to Caden Crawford for placing 2nd place, Lance Crawford placing 6th, Nico Garcia placing 7th and Blake Hoover placing 8th. All H-L Wrestlers will wrestle on Friday 2/28 at 6:00 PM and Saturday, 2/29 at 10 AM at Van Buren for the Sectional Tournament!
 
CONGRATULATIONS to Jada Breidenbach and Terri Greene on an Outstanding performance at the District Public Speaking Contest. Jada presented a speech about food allergies and the role of Agriculture in helping people overcome those allergy challenges. She placed 4th in her event. Terri drew a random topic out of a hat and then had 30 minutes to prepare a speech. The topic she drew was controlling parasites in livestock. She placed 5th in her event.
 
Girls Basketball District Pre-Sale Tickets will be on sale in HS office Tomorrow, 2/25 & Wednesday 2/26 between 8-4 PM. Thursday, 2/27 tickets will be on sale between 8-Noon. Pre-Sale Tickets are $6 Adults & $4 Students. All tickets at the gate are $7. H-L received a % of all pre-sale tickets! Girls game at Shelby will be a split session, if staying for 2nd game, you will have to buy another ticket.  There will be no pre-sale tickets for the boys game this week.
 
Boys Varsity Basketball team plays their first tournament game Wednesday at 6:15 at Fostoria vs North Baltimore. Let's see your spirit by wearing RED. Girls Varsity Basketball team will play in the District game on Thursday at 6:15 at Shelby vs Carey.  Let's see your spirit by wearing RED!  Let's go Chieftains!! 
 
2020 BASEBALL Apparel SALE now until March 10th! 2020 SOFTBALL Apparel SALE now until March 2nd, Olympic T-Shirt SALE now until March 11th, Olympic Grade level colors are as follow: 7th Grade Turquoise, 8th Grade Royal Blue, 9th Grade Light Purple, 10th Grade Khaki, 11th Grade Burgundy, 12th Grade White, and Faculty/Staff Red! Olympic shirts are $6 each, Office has order forms for all Apparel Sales!
 
FFA Dodgeball Tournament - Chieftain Gym at 7:00 PM. Teams of 5 are forming for $20 per team with an advisor. If you sign up by February 19th you will all get a free t-shirt. Please contact Hannah Fought or Mr. Horner for any questions.
 
Next Level ACT Prep - Thursday, February 27, 2020, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM at North Central Ohio ESC, Tiffin Campus. The six-hour session is presented by Next Level Prep, a company known for its subject matter experts in test preparation and college admissions. This course includes a comprehensive workbook, online testing access after the seminar and free call-in tutoring. The cost is $59 for the seminar. Lunch is included. Speed Camp - All Athletes in Grades 7-12th. Any Athlete, from any sport, is welcome to attend. Speed camp will be in the Chieftain gym from 9-10:30 AM every Saturday until the end of March.

Computer Coding - Attention Girls in Grades 5th - 8th. If you're interested in attending lessons for "Computer Coding" at BGSU, please see Mrs. Arnold for information.

Immunization Records: Are you a 7th grader or 12th grader and got your required shots this year?  We need a copy of your shot records in the office, please bring in ASAP. If you are unsure if we have your current records on hand, please call into the office to check on it. This is only for 7th and 12th graders.

Sports passes -are available now in the office. Adults are $50 for $10 punches and Students are $30 for 10 punches.  Save money and buy your sports pass in the office.

Final Forms - Please access Final Forms ASAP and update and sign all documents, as a parent and student. It's very important to always keep this information accurate and current as this is the emergency contact information we use, as well as all mailing labels, get generated with the information you provide when we mail out report cards, notes, and letters throughout the school year.

Student Parking Permits - All students that drive to school must park in the student parking lot and have a 2019-2020 parking permit displayed on the rearview mirror. Parking permits are handed out in the school office.

Scholarships - Seniors please check the scholarship page on the guidance website. New ones are being added including the North Central Electric.

Seniors - you are required to have 20 hours of Community Service for Graduation. Those hours are due no later than March 13, 2020. Please turn those into Mrs. Hendrix or Mrs. Hoffman. If you are struggling to get service hours please see Mrs. Hendrix. Also, stop and see Mrs. Hoffman for dates/times of concession stand.

REMINDER: Please do not open doors for anyone trying to enter the building...other students, parents, visitors, delivery people etc. Please direct them to enter the office doors. This is a very important part of our security for our building.
