There are eight teams participating – 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th graders and an alumni team.

History of Relay for Life at Hopewell-Loudon
Hopewell-Loudon students have been participating in the Relay for Life since 2001. The first team was a group of fifth graders that raised over $1600. That group of fifth graders returned as sixth graders along with a new group of fifth graders the following year. Over the last nine years, the student teams have grown by leaps and bounds and now include teams from grades 6-12 and an alumni team. In 2009, the students from Hopewell-Loudon raised over $16,000 bringing our grand total to over $86,000!

Click on Join An Existing Team.
Type in Hopewell – Loudon.
Click on the appropriate Hopewell-Loudon Class.
Click on Join Our Team.
Make sure circle is marked in front of Sign Up Now and Make Donation.
You may either choose to Sign up and make a donation or I prefer not to make a donation at this time.
Fill in $100.00 for Fundraising Goal. Our goal for sixth graders is $35.00 and our goal for junior and senior high and alumni is $50.00, but the computer requires you to fill in $100.00.

The registration fee is $10.00 and should be given to Mrs. Weaver by March 5, 2010. Checks should be payable to The American Cancer Society.
If you register online, you will need to print the Youth Waiver Form (found on the Relay for Life home page. This form will need to be returned to Mrs. Weaver by March 5, 2010.
Fundraisers
Black Swamp Candles
Team members will be taking orders for Black Swamp candles from March 24 – April 14, 2010.

Team members will be selling rubber silicone bracelets.

Hat Day
For a $1.00 donation, any Hopewell-Loudon student may wear a hat on April 10, 2010 to celebrate “Hats off to Finding a Cure for Cancer”.
Penny Collection
All Hopewell-Loudon elementary students will collect change for the American Cancer Society from April 26 – May 7, 2010.
Luminary
Luminary (small paper bags with candles) may be purchased “In Memory” or “In Honor” of a family member or friend that has battled cancer. These bags are placed in a very large circle and the names of those that have battled cancer will be read during the Luminary Ceremony on May 14th at the Relay. Order forms are available from team members or contact Deb Weaver.
Luminary orders may be given to team captains at any time before the Relay.
Donations
6th grade team members need to collect a minimum of $35.00.
7th -12th grade team members need to collect a minimum of $50.00.
Donations are due by Friday, May 7th, 2010.

This year there is an option for making online donations to the Hopewell-Loudon team of your choice.

On the right side of the screen where Top Teams are listed, click on View All.
Click on the team of your choice.
Click on Donate to Our Team.
