The Conflicker worm is still out there and I seem to be unable to remove it from a flash drive.  I will format the flash drive to ensure it is deceased.   This is how you will know the worm is on a flash drive and is verbatim from Microsoft:

In the screenshot of the Autoplay dialog box (A) below, the option Open folder to view files — Publisher not specified was added by the worm. The highlighted option — Open folder to view files — using Windows Explorer is the option that Windows provides and the option you should use.

If you select the first option, the worm executes and can begin to spread itself to other computers.

This update will tell you that it is not needed if you keep your system up to date.

 

The best precaution for home if you have the time is to run the all critical updates:

The virus may already on an external USB drive you may hook or have hooked to your computer:  Take the below Precautionary Steps Before April 1st:  Can’t help you if you are Windows ME and Below at home:

Turn off Auto Play, Windows XP:  You will need to plug in some type of USB drive or camera card:

Right click on the removable drive and select properties.

 

Go to the Autoplay tab as shown below.

  The safest thing to do is to select an action to perform and select the option Open folder to view files with Windows Explorer as shown above.  You will need to do this for each item in the drop down menu (where music files is shown above).
